This is a vintage 1981 Gibson Les Paul Custom in Silverburst finish. The color is rare because it was only used from 1979 to 1981, though I've heard of recent reissues. Over time, the silver yellows from the lacquer finish which is why the silver looks more golden. These old Les Pauls are made from a heavier mahogany and have a full bodied tone which I've always loved. I think this silverburst finish has become more popular because of guitarist Adam Jones of Tool, who is enthusiastic about the finish.
